ChaplainThe core values of the Christian faith are fundamental to our philosophy at the Royal Hospital School and our magnificent Chapel is at the centre of school life. The School community gathers here most mornings for worship and the resident Chaplain has a major input into the care of the pupils, academic and support staff and their families - the whole school community.

The School respects the needs and beliefs of all faiths and cultural backgrounds and the Chaplain is involved in the teaching and pastoral care of all the pupils. Irrespective of whether an individual has a religious faith or no faith, the Chaplain seeks to be a friend and advisor to all in the School. Those pupils who wish to be, are prepared for Church of England Confirmation and provision for confirmation is also made for Roman Catholic pupils in the local church.

Chaplaincy is presented in a holistic way, not only within the Chapel context or the educational syllabi, but within every aspect of Community life. It is a genuine attempt to travel alongside in spiritual issues that arise in the lives of the members of the School community.
